Tina collaborates with school and district partners in West Michigan to promote standards-based instruction, equity awareness and robust adult learning communities. She enjoys facilitating workshops, designing content, leading observations and thought-partnering with educators. Previously, Tina has served as an instructional coach, professional development facilitator and ELA teacher in South Florida, including two years in Teach for America. Tina sponsored the GSA at one of the largest public charter high schools in Florida and is proud to be a finalist for the 2016 GLSEN Educator of the Year Award. She currently lives with her partner and their two feline children in Lansing, Michigan.

In-Person Session
In this session, we will explore the intersection between the racial justice and LGBTQIA+ justice. We will connect as community committed to advancing equity and liberation in our schools in ways that include queer and transgendered students of color. We will reflect on our schools current policies, practices, and mindsets. Together, we will commit to collective action and collaborate on strategies for change. We will leave as part of an expanded community dedicated to tackling issues that most impact our students with intersectional identities
